Our Purpose
The worship arts ministry at Antioch exists to make the glory and supremacy of Jesus known through creative, Gospel-centered worship gatherings. We use music and other creative elements as tools for glorifying God by remembering the Gospel and building up the body of believers.
Worship Team Auditions
We ask that all individuals interested in serving on the worship team as a vocalist or instrumentalist participate in an audition. The purpose of this audition is not as much determining whether someone is "good enough", but rather if their skillset and giftedness is a good fit for the worship arts ministry at Antioch. We have open auditions quarterly, but you may schedule a private audition at any time by contacting our church office at 812.254.2651.
How to Prepare for Your Audition
For singers: If you are interested in auditioning as a singer, please download and fill out this form. For your vocal audition, we ask that you pick any song from the "Master Lyrics & Chord Charts" list below. You may practice the song in advance using the media player under the "Master List Audio & Video" section. If you are capable of singing vocal harmonies, we ask that you prepare to sing a harmony part for the audition as well.
For instrumentalists: If you are interested in auditioning as an instrumentalist, please download and fill out this form. For your audition, we ask that you pick any song from the "Master Lyrics & Chord Charts" list below. You may practice the song in advance using the media player under the "Master List Audio & Video" section. For electric guitarists, we will also ask you to demonstrate any scaling ability (pentatonic in particular, but this is not essentially for an audition). For drummers, we will ask you to demonstrate a few different types of rhythms, tempos, and dynamics.
What Happens Next?
Following your audition, you will be contacted by someone on our worship arts lead team. If your giftedness is a fit for the ministry, we will ask you to read through and agree to adhere to our Worship Arts Team Handbook and our churches core values and essential beliefs. Next you will be asked to "shadow serve"- which basically means you will attend a weekly rehearsal and a Sunday morning rehearsal, and be with the team through both services without actually serving on the worship team. If an audition is our opportunity to see if YOU are a good fit for the ministry, then a shadow serve is your opportunity to see if WE (the worship arts ministry) are a good fit for you. There is significant commitment involved in serving in the area of worship and it is important that you experience a typical week before agreeing to join the team. (But... we also have a ton of fun! :)) After your shadow serve, we will follow up with you. If you decide to join the team, we will add you to the roster and begin working with your availability to schedule you for serving.
